Alicante was born 3/30/1973 in Puerto Rico. His breeder was Jaime Valles. Alicante was a Pure Puerto Rican International Champion in Classic Fino and Bella Forma.

Betty Klein one of the pioneers of the Paso Fino breed in the US and owner of Mako's Breezy Oaks Farm purchased him in the eartly 80's and designated him to be her herd sire. It was thru Betty's promotion and careful and prudent breeding program that made him one of the most legendary stallions of the modern day Paso Fino. He was famous for producing size, natural gait, conformation and a regal beautiful head.

The Paso Fino Horse Association has registered over 100 direct Alicante offspring . He was awarded the PFHA's Top Ten Sire List in 1990, 1991, and 1994. These sires are recognized for producing offspring which have successful show ring careers.

Alicante passed away in the mid 90's but he is still continuing to make a big impact on the Paso Fino breed in America thru his offspring. His offspring are continuing to pass on his presence, gait and most importantly his Elegant Regal Appearance. The Great Alicante's Legend Lives On .
